NRA APPROVED SMALLBORE RIFLE & SMALLBORE HUNTING RIFLE
The rifles must be chambered in .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. Scopes or iron sights may be used. The targets are much smaller than the pistol targets and are placed at 40, 60, 75, and 100 yards from the firing line. Like Hunter Pistol, the match consists of 10 targets at each distance fired in 5 shot strings with 2½ minutes to fire the five rounds. The two classes are described below:
- Smallbore Rifle: Weight limit is 10 lbs., 2 0z. Aftermarket stocks, barrels, etc. may be used. Any safe trigger weight allowed. No palm rests, slings or hooked butt plates.
- Smallbore Hunting Rifle: Weight limit is 8½ lbs. Must be of hunting rifle configuration with tapered barrel. Trigger pull shall be no lighter than 2 lbs. Scopes or iron sights may be used.
