International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA)

The Green River Gun Club is an International Defensive Pistol Association affiliated club.

IDPA as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in IDPA events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No “competition only” equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship.

For 2011 we will be shooting 11 matches on the fourth and fifth Saturdays. The dates will be:

March 26 - Regular IDPA Pistol w/Rifle Sidematch

April 23 - (Rifle only) Tactical Rifle Match (IDPA rules)

May 28 - Regular IDPA Pistol w/Shotgun Sidematch.

July 23 - Regular IDPA Pistol w/Rifle Sidematch.

July 30 - Classifier & Rifle Sidematch

September 24 - Regular IDPA Pistol w/Shotgun Sidematch.

October 29 -  IDPA Night Match (See below.)

November 26 - Regular IDPA Pistol w/Rifle Sidematch

Setup will begin at 8am. Match will start at 9:30am. We will be shooting in squads. 
Cost will be $15.

We are planning on having six pistol stages and two Rifle or Shotgun stages at our matches this season. Rifle and Shotgun will be optional and scored separately.

Supplementing our regular shooting bays and the Jungle Walk, The GRGC has added a 32'x32' Permanent Shoot House in 2010.

October 29th Night Match.  

   Setup 4pm.

   Mandatory Shooters meeting at 6pm.

   Shooting begins 7pm(ish- depending on darkness).
