Congratulations to Gary Gaddis on winning his class in ATA Doubles in the Windy Open at Nashville Gun Club this past Saturday. The event name was very appropriate but Gary still prevailed!
The GRGC Trap Range remains open on Monday evenings starting at 5:00 PM. The time change and moderating weather have improved attendance and we look forward to a fun summer. The pavilion is completed except for permanent electric service but we're getting by just fine using a heavy extension cord til then.
Youth shooting has begun in earnest and we currently have youth shooters on the range 4 days a week with 2 different practices one day a week. FFA trap teams from all 4 County high schools are practicing in anticipation of the FFA Spring Invitational. SCTP Leadslingers are having formal practices one evening a week in preparation for their first travelling competition on April 21. 4H trap will begin late April or the first of May.
One date to remember is 9:00 AM on April 28th when GRGC Trap Range will be hosting the FFA Spring Invitational. This event will largely mirror the FFA Regionals we hosted last October. Several teams from throughout Kentucky will converge on GRGC for a day of formal completion and fun.
For questions about trapshooting in general, forming a league, involving a youth shooter in our sport or anything else please contact me at 270-535-5892.
Remember : Normally, the range is Private-Closed, and available only to Members, but DURING REGULAR SCHEDULED MATCH EVENTS like 3Gun, IDPA, ARA, ATA, and Cowboy Action, THAT EVENT RANGE is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC to attend that Match/Event. Spectators for regularly scheduled events are welcome. Participants are very welcome. Come see what its all about. You may find something you like.
